Sarracenia ‘Smoorii’

Sarracenia ‘Smoorii’ is a fascinating trumpet pitcher. Smoorii looks very unusual, with bright green foliage with deep red veins forming ‘pitchers’. These vertical, trumpet-shaped pitchers attract and trap flies and other small insects, which the plant then digests.

Sarracenia ‘Smoorii’ appreciates a position with plenty of natural light, so it’s ideal for a sunny windowsill. In the wild, pitcher plants are found in damp, swampy environments, so keep the soil consistently moist. Trumpet pitcher plants do not like tap water as it may contain high levels of lime and other chemicals, so water with rainwater or distilled water.
