Heliamphora heterodexa

Heliamphora heterodoxa grows in the wild on Table Mountain Ptari and in the municipality of Gran Sabana in south-eastern Venezuela. The traps of the carnivorous sun cup are apple green and red at the rim. On this rim is a small lid in which nectar glands are hidden.

Heliamphora heterodexa

This organ lures insects that then fall into the cup because they cannot get a grip on the slippery rim. Heliamphora heterodoxa can grow up to 30cm tall. The relatively large white-pink flowers have a thick bundle of yellow stamens. See our care guide for more information about growing Heliamphora.
