Opuntia microdasys cristata is a truly unusual cactus that instantly stands out thanks to its crested, fan-shaped growth. Instead of forming flat pads like the standard bunny ears cactus, this cristate form grows in sculptural, wave-like shapes that look almost coral-like or sculpted by hand. Its surface is covered with tiny golden or pale glochids rather than long spines, giving it a soft-looking but textured appearance.
