Rhipsalis holviana is a graceful, trailing cactus with long, slender stems that cascade softly, creating a light and elegant appearance. Native to tropical rainforests, this epiphytic cactus grows naturally on trees rather than in soil, which gives it a very different look and care requirement compared to desert cacti. Its flowing form makes it especially suitable for hanging pots, shelves or raised planters where the stems can fall freely.

The delicate green stems branch gently as the plant matures, forming a full and airy shape that adds movement and texture to indoor spaces. In the right conditions, Rhipsalis holviana may produce small, subtle flowers followed by tiny berries, adding an extra layer of interest without distracting from its refined form.

This plant prefers bright, indirect light and should be protected from strong, direct sunlight. Water more regularly than traditional cacti, keeping the compost lightly moist during the growing season while allowing the top layer to dry slightly between watering. Reduce watering in winter. A free-draining epiphytic or cactus compost works best.
