Mammillaria gracilis is a charming cactus that forms clusters of small, oval stems covered in fine white spines. Its soft, almost fluffy appearance makes it especially appealing and less intimidating than many other cacti.
As it matures, it produces clumps that spread gently across the pot. In spring, it may reward you with small creamy-white flowers forming a ring around the crown. It enjoys bright light but should be protected from harsh midday sun. Water sparingly and allow the compost to dry out fully between watering. An excellent beginner cactus that looks great year round.
